Russian Teacake Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter or margarine (softened)

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Special add in 2 - 3 tbsp rum or brandy (if making for adults)
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour sifted (or by dipping method)
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1) Mix butter, sugar, vanilla, rum or brandy thoroughly.
2) Mix flour and salt together and add to butter mixture.
3) add chopped nuts (optional) and chill dough 30 minutes but no more then 1 hour.
4 pre-heat oven to 400 degrees (mod hot)
Roll dough into 1" balls and place on ungreased baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cookies do NOT spread.
5) bake 10 - 12 minutes or until set but NOT browned.
6) while still warm roll in powdered sugar and cool completely then roll in powdered sugar again.
This recipe makes about 4 dozen 1" cookies
